THE UNION PRINTERS HOME REDEVELOPMENT

‍Seven local millionaires bought the historic 26-acre Union Printers Home property on Union & Pikes Peak. They plan to redevelop it into a $1-2 BILLION luxury campus called “Printers Hill” (pictured left).

The developers—Susan Pattee, Jim Johnson, Kevin O’Neil, Ward Berlin, Susie Burghart, James Loo, & Tony Bettis—want to use hundreds of millions of our public dollars to finance their profits and our displacement.

HOW Would THIS IMPACT US?

A major upscale development like this triggers gentrification, this is what it looks like —

  • Real estate investors buy up single-family and small lots around the development.

  • Private equity & corporate giants buyout large parcels in the neighborhoods. Landlords use rent hikes to push out working-class tenants and spiked property taxes push out working-class homeowners.

  • Luxury units at “Printers Hill” list at $2,100–$2,800+/month (matching Downtown pricing). Small businesses are priced out, long-time neighbors are gone, the foundation of our communities is lost, and affordability is eroded across the city.

A CBA is a legally-binding contract negotiated between a community and developer. We can win affordable housing, community resources, and protections for our neighborhoods — but only if you join us.
