Colorado Springs Tenants are coming together to win safe, stable, and truly affordable housing
our city
Colorado Springs is experiencing a crisis of affordability. Housing costs have skyrocketed while wages have stagnated. 60% of renters are rent-burdened. Working class and long-time residents are being pushed out and more neighbors are ending up outside.
Meanwhile, landlords and developers are squeezing our homes for the most profit. Our politicians benefit through campaign dollars, backroom deals, and their own investments.
Only we can save us – by building a movement of tenants who build power and take back control of our lives.
what is a tenant union?
A tenant union follows one simple principle, there are more of us than there are of them. Unions can exist at the building level to win better conditions from our landlords, the neighborhood level to fight displacement and secure our communities, or the citywide level to reshape the housing system to prioritize us.
